Day 1. Bogotá
Welcome and assistance at El Dorado International Airport. Transfer to the hotel and check-in.
Day 2. Bogotá – City Tour
Breakfast at the hotel. At the agreed time, the Panoramic City Tour through the historic center of Bogotá also called "La Candelaria" will begin, within which the Gold Museum will be visited, where about 34,000 pre-Hispanic gold pieces and more than 25,000 pre-Columbian objects will be seen. Later we will visit the Casa de la Moneda y Donación Botero where works by the master Fernando Botero, internationally recognized Colombian in different artistic techniques such as painting, drawing and sculpture, are exhibited, a panoramic tour knowing the Frame of the Bolívar square (La Catedral Primada, La Casa de Nariño, El Palacio Liévano and El Palacio de Justicia), and finally enjoy and learn about the smoothest coffee in the world. A local expert will teach you the secrets of a good cup, appreciating its qualities such as balance, body, aroma and acidity. Observe the most used preparation methods and try a cup of specially selected coffee accompanied by products derived from coffee. Demonstration on the elaboration of artisan ice creams of exotic fruits from Colombia based on an ancestral technique of the twentieth century, called Helados de Paila. In the afternoon, return to the hotel. Day 3. Bogotá – Villa de Leyva
Breakfast at the hotel. The journey will begin in Bogotá making our way to Zipaquirá, where one of Colombia's main tourist sites is located, the majestic Salt Cathedral built 180 meters deep from a salt mine. Lunchtime (not included). Departure to Villa de Leyva, passing by the Boyacá Bridge (Puente de Boyacá), where the most important battle to declare the independence of Colombia took place. In that time, this episode also inspired the independence battles of Venezuela and Ecuador. Arrival to Villa de Leyva. This is a representative town in Colombia due to the history, architecture and bohemian atmosphere it represents. It is located 177 km away from Bogotá, despite its role in the past political history of the country, it is so well preserved that seems to be frozen in time. Overnight at the hotel. Day 4. Villa de Leyva
Breakfast at the hotel. Tour of the museums around Villa de Leyva, visit to the Terracota House, Infiernito. Lunch (not included). Visit Raquira. Return to Bogotá - El Dorado International Airport where the flight to the city of Armenia will be taken (not included. It is suggested to take Flight leaving Bogotá at night after 19:00 Hrs). Welcoming and assistance at the Armenia International Airport. Transfer to the hotel and check in. Duration: 10 hours Includes: Entrance to the places described. Bilingual guide, private transportation and local medical assistance card.
Day 5. Pereira – Salento and Cocora Valley
Breakfast at the hotel. Later we will initiate the tour toward the Valley of the Cocora. Upon arrival, the entrance to the Natural Reserve of the Cocora is made by foot until arriving at the Forest of palm where it will be possible to appreciate the biodiversity of fauna and flora. There will be observed the highest Palm of wax of the World and national tree insignia. Free time to have lunch (included), then we go to Salento for a walking tour visiting its colonial streets. There, we will board a typical transportation Jeep Willys (2 people onwards) to go to the farm El Ocaso, where the interactive process of the coffee will take place.
Day 6. Armenia- Santa Marta
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, transfer to El Eden International Airport, to take the flight (Not included) to the city of Santa Marta (It is suggested to take a flight leaving the City of Armenia in the morning hours before 09:00 am.). Arrival in Santa Marta, welcoming and assistance at the Simón Bolívar International Airport. Transfer to the hotel and check-in. Lunch (not included). In the afternoon, city tour, passing through the main avenues and visiting Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino, an old sugar mill where the Simon Bolivar spent his last days. Here, three different collections can be appreciated: the historical collection, the modern collection and the botanical garden. Visit to Minor Basilica Cathedral and Gold Museum or Customs House, where the liberator Simón Bolívar spent also several important days of his life. There, an extraordinary collection can be observed, which puts in context the cultural heritage of the city and country as well as a beautiful restored colonial house that invites to explore the past and present of Santa Marta. Return to the hotel. Duration: 4 hours Includes: Entrance fees to the places described, Bilingual guide, private transportation and local medical assistance card.
Day 7. Santa Marta
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to the Tayrona Natural Park -about 45 minutes from Santa Marta-, a nature sanctuary with a variety of fascinating ecosystems, beaches, and indigenous cultures. After passing the sector of Canaveral, we will begin our walk through the dry humid tropical forest until we reach the sector of Reefs and thus reach Cabo San Juan to take a refreshing swim in the Caribbean sea. Lunch (not included). In the afternoon return to the hotel. Duration: 10 hours Includes: Entrance fee to the Tayrona Park, Bilingual guide, private transportation and Local medical assistance card.
Day 8. Santa Marta– Cartagena
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer from Santa Marta to Cartagena by land in private shuttle service (Spanish speaking driver) (Duration approx 4 Hours). Arrival at Cartagena, Check in at the hotel. City tour in a private transport unit equipped with air conditioning, journey through the residential neighborhoods of Bocagrande, Castillo grande and Manga. Arrival at the Top of the Popa, where you will have a complete view of the city, guided visit to the convent and the church. Later on, visit to San Felipe de Barajas Castle, the most important military engineering work of Spain in America which protected the city from pirate attacks. At the end of this visit, return by the Santander Avenue from where the bastions and walls of the historic center can be observed. Visit to the craft center Las Bóvedas. Duration: 4 hours. Includes: Entry tickets to the places described, Bilingual guide, private transportation and Local medical assistance card.
Day 9. Cartagena
Breakfast at the hotel. This will be the ideal day for fishing and cooking native cuisine and to get in direct contact with the native population of the Afro-Cartagena fishermen's village. We will learn from them to assemble fishing nets and gears for crabs, then help to cook crabs in fishermen's house. Duration: 7 hours, Includes: Bilingual guide, private transportation, Typical lunch (whatever you catch, crabs, fish or snails) everything is cooked in the house of the native fisherman, and Local medical assistance card.
Day 10. Cartagena
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Rafael Núñez International Airport. According to the scheduled, flight back to your city of origin.
